Today Through My Window

My World

I am very fortunate to live in the countryside, with so much beauty and pleasure is on my own doorstep. I wanted to share my thoughts in this free verse poem this morning, as I look at it through my window. I hope you will enjoy. x

Hope

The sunlight is warming my soul through the window,

the ash trees standing so tall and proud,

their branches moaning, gently caressing the breeze.

New growth on the carpet of grass,

deep green, sensuously

laying in welcome of Spring.

Rose bushes stems tall and full of thorns,

welcome the new buds,

which are ready to tempt the senses.

Honesty, now tuned from brown to cream

the subtle cream circle of light

addition to bouquets’ of flowers.

The evergreens, now showing the new heady growth

to welcome spring after the snows of winter,

and give hope for tones of summer.

Daffodils, some mellow yellow,

while the burnished copper contrasts of

the narcissi against the yellow petals.

Snowdrops pure and white, cradle the violet primrose

now ready to split and divide into another carpet

of luscious colours, easy on the eyes.

Blue sky above, suspending

new soft white, downy clouds,

pillows for angels that reside in heaven.

The honeysuckle of life ready to great a fellow

climber of sense, hope and love,

steadfastly holding onto the wall of life.

Rabbits hopping along the hedgerow,

ever hopeful of a tasty treat that escaped the frost,

and held all the cobwebs in its shades of white.

Another summer will be upon us soon

and may June chase away the memories of winter hail,

when at last , the sunshine comes out to play again.

Children playing,

whose laughter embraces the

birth of a new day.

The magic of the summer,

to admire again,

until the season of winter, returns our way.

Beautiful Day

Hi Joyce, I am back in my comfort zone, and glad to be writing something tame again. I had lots of fun sharing my sensual writing with you, but it is embarrassing at the same time. Thank you so much for your support hunnie. x

It's your biggest fan from Germany calling.

This is what I love to read from you. You have the heart and the feelings for this type of work. Love it.

When you talk about the country side where you are, I just close my eyes and I see it as I'm one of the lucky ones that knows your country side personlly.

Beautiful hub.

Hi Rosemay, thank you for the lovely comment hunnie. When we are happy, we find beauty in everyday, but when we are sad nothing can fill the heart. I am surrounded by beauty ever day I open my curtains to greet the new day. It is inspirational. x
