The Daughter -In-Law
My two babies
For My Special Little Girl
If I could choose a daughter in law, I would never change you,
For our friendship and trust means more to me, than the early morning dew,
Which nurtures our grass to grow, and fills my eyes with joy
And clearly adds to my senses because you love my little boy.
If I could choose a daughter in law, she would fill my heart with pride,
Because through those big blue eyes of yours the world is open wide,
It is full of opportunity for you and me to share,
The special type of unity that only I can dare,
To ask you, my baby girl, to be my friend for life,
To cherish and respect you before you become my baby’s wife.
You gave me an angel to sit upon my lap,
To gaze into my loving eyes were the love for his nanny with always fill the gap
In this lonely woman’s heart whose spirit once ran wild and true
With love and endless wisdom I want to share with you
Pull up a seat sweet girl, a glass of wine we will toast
To a future with roses for who we love the most
Now you and I dear daughter, we have been our separate ways,
We have cried and shouted at each other, lashing out in pain
But no matter what the future holds, I love you more today
Than I could ever love any other daughter with nothing more to say
For you are so precious to me and least I should forget
That special day long ago, the day that we first met.
To my darling daughter in law, I love you baby girl.
